My work is mostly inspired by natural and built environments, with a particular focus on fauna, portraits and the character of local architecture. I am drawn to the details that make a place feel familiar - the people, animals, weathered buildings, quiet streets, and the small visual details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Working primarily with acrylic paint, ink and digital mediums, I explore the contrast between delicate, intricate mark-making and bold areas of colour. I enjoy allowing the qualities of each medium to remain visible within the work, using fine lines and layered marks to build texture, atmosphere and a sense of character.

My paintings and drawings are rooted in observation, and I’m interested in capturing the feeling of a place or subject.

Through my work, I hope to encourage a closer appreciation of the ordinary environments around us, finding beauty, character and intrigue in the places and subjects we encounter every day.
